" As a guide and from what I have learned while traveling around the world, tourism often destroys small farmers. Farming is hard physical work and it isn't so lucrative as tourism. Many have abandoned farming and started converting their fields into campsites, for example. But what if tourism would be more personal then staying in all-inclusive 5* hotel franchise. What if farmers could stay farmers and offer their fresh, homemade, traditional products directly to their guests under their roof. This is agro-tourism and I believe that is one of the ways we can protect our nature from being destroyed by overbuilding massive hotels and unattractive apartment complexes that are empty in the offseason. I'm into my last week in Georgia and this was my first impression what this country was all about. Beautiful garden, wonderful hardworking people, true Georgian hospitality and abundance of homemade organic food."
